Housing design to Katajanokka

The project was to design a residential building to a site in Katajanokka. The site had challenges because of the historically important Lutikkalinna building.

Pavilion for the Finnish
Academy of Fine Arts

Pavilion was placed to the centre of the Kasarmitori square. Pavilion has
translucent polycarbonate cladding which opens views to the inside.

Sauna

In this project we used a traditional Finnish sauna arcetype and made a modern
version of it. The saddle roof is split in half with the sauna, bathing area and toilet on the other side and a cosy terrace on the other.

landmark / tower to the Pasila area in
Helsinki.

Otaniemi plan

A new metro station is coming to Otaniemi
campus area which generates the need
for additional space for university use.

Timber house

A timber building designed to the 1920's
neoclassical Vallila area. Following the modernistic tradition the house humbly situates itself to the area. In the first floor there is a small dance studio and an apartment in the second floor.

Concrete structure

We explored in this project how little does
it take to support a heavy mass of
concrete. The space under the huge concrete block is silent and calming with a tree growing through the monolith.

Hama Forest

The project was to design an artwork for
the Lastenlinna childrens hospital. We
used Hama pearls familiar to children to compose a forest, so you can imagine yourself there while being treated.
